Ingredients
2 TBL Butter
1 Green Pepper, diced
1 Onion, diced
2 Stalks of Celery, sliced
8 Green onions, sliced
1 pkg smoked turkey sausage (about 13 oz), sliced - you could use pork but we prefer the turkey because the flavor was still great and it doesn't have a casing on it which makes slicing and eating easier.
1 lb cubed or diced ham
3 8oz cans tomato sauce
5 cups uncooked rice
1/8-1/4 tsp Pepper
anywhere from a pinch to 1/8 tsp Red Pepper
Melt Butter in pan. Add vegetables to butter and cook until onions are clear and veggies are tender. Add meat to veggies, as well as tomato sauce and seasonings. Mix and cook on medium for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, in separate pan cook your rice according to directions. When rice is cooked and meat and veggies are cooked, combine everything and cook for an additional 20-30 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
