Ryan has had this crazy idea about putting together a conference in the Cincinnati area for about a year. Well, after going around Ohio for various conferences in April, Ryan started thinking about the lack of any Biblical Evangelism conferences in the area.
Without saying anything to her, Elaine began talking to Ryan about the need for a conference in Cincinnati... and that Ryan should head it up! After praying and seeing God start to move things forward, the Muniak Family realized that they were going to put together a conference and may God get the glory!
As Ryan began formulating plans, he felt led to differ from a typical conference and make it more of a training academy. This was confirmed to be the right decision by the other speakers (now instructors).
The Academy still didn't have a name until Ryan was doing a greek word study and came across the term Martureo, which means Witness. What intrigued Ryan about this word is the fact that it's also translated as Martyr, thus providing the underlying theme for the academy.
