The doctors have found a medicine combination which has stopped all seizure activity. Thank God for guiding them in their care for our little prince charming. They are switching his medicines to be taken orally so that we can continue to give them to him when he leaves the hospital.
His brain bleed has not continued and is in fact healing based on the most recent ultrasound finds. This could take 2-6 weeks for the bleed to completely absorb and it is possible that once the bleed is gone, the seizures will end. We are praising God that the bleed has not gotten worse.
Things have changed so much since Ben was born. I (Elaine) did not realize it at the time, but our son was not behaving normally after birth. I simply chalked it up to him being an individual baby, just with a more sleepy side than my other kids. However, to look at him now is to see a different baby. While the meds keep him sleepy, he is more alert than his birth and he is looking at me and others as if investigating his surroundings.
It is amazing to see that thousands of people are praying for your child and to get support not only from those close to us but those who have heard about Ben and felt a burden for him and our family. We've also heard from others who have gone through similar situations with their children. How great that God would bring people into our lives to intercede for Ben and to encourage us.
Our God is truly greater than all gods. He has shown many of His attributes throughout all of this. His sovereignty, His mercy, His love, His protection, His provision....He has worked mightily in our lives and we just give Him all praise and honor for He is so kind and good to us.
Thanks to all those praying for our family. Please continue to pray as we wait to take our Baby Ben home with us and acclimate to a household of 6 instead of 5.
Soli Deo Gloria!!
