Have you ever seen a homeless person standing on the corner with a little cardboard sign asking for help? How about while walking around the neighborhood and a homeless person begs you for some change? As Christians, our natural inclination is to help them, but many homeless people might use our money to further a drinking habit or drug problem? How many times have you ignored them or avoided making eye contact, just to feel less guilty about not helping the homeless?
We take a personal stance to never give homeless people cash. If they come asking for food, we'll usually offer to buy them some food, but most will decline the offer because they want the money for something else. We've also started making "Homeless Care Kits" with some common necessities to give away whenever we come across a homeless person. Here's our list of bag items to help you create your own kits:

- Plastic Grocery Bags (for storing everything else)
- Non-perishable food items (Chips, Canned Vegetables, etc.)
- Toiletry Needs (Toilet Paper, Toothpaste, Comb, etc.)
- Bottled Water
- Gospel Tracts
- Bibles
Try to keep a few on hand at all times (in your car) so that you can be ready to help the next time you come across a homeless person! Soli Deo Gloria!
