Recently, we've seen a large amount of professing Christians withdrawing their support from Donald Trump as President. This action comes after a recent video was leaked of Mr. Trump making some extremely lewd remarks regarding his interaction with women.
The Bible actually makes it very clear why Christians are removing their endorsement from Donald Trump and his Presidential campaign.
In 1 Corinthians 5:9-13, Paul writes, "I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— not at all meaning the sexually immoral of this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside. 'Purge the evil person from among you.'" (Emphasis mine)
If Donald Trump did not profess to be a Christian, I don't think he would be losing any of his endorsements. Granted, he may not have received as many from Christians to begin with, but according to this passage from Scripture, it is the correct (and Biblical) action to withdraw support from Donald Trump.
However, the question remains... Will these same Christians still vote for the man they no longer endorse, or will they search for a candidate whose morals and actions align with God's Word?
